State of Mankind: Introduction into Qur'anic Universalism.
How God sees us, how we see ourselves
by Arnold Yasin Mol
A detailed study of the Qur'anic inclusive message which calls for a cooperation between all people on earth who want to create and maintain peace and welfare. The Qur'an induces people on two levels. Al-Islam is the universal and natural thought and behaviour system (al-Deen 30:30, 2:62, 41:33, 3:64) which represents a pluralistic ethical value system that induces cooperation between different groups among mankind. While al-Iman is the system of the people who accept the truthfull origins of all religions and the Qur'an, are responsible for maintaining peace (amina) and encourage dialogue and justice among all the groups. As expressed in this essay:
"The potential of the Qur’an as a universal guide towards peace and progress can thus manifest itself more clearly. It unites mankind in purpose and direction, while respecting their differences."

Leading Islamic reformist and literary scholar, Nasr Hamid Abu Zaid, believes that individual freedom is an essential prerequisite to faith. Everyone, therefore, also has the right to convert to another faith. He talked to Erhard Brunn about some of his ideas
The relationship between the Muslim and the non-Muslim worlds is one that is deeper and more historical than we think, believes Abu Zaid
The question of what the Muslim attitude to violence is still one that very much preoccupies the West. You recently pointed out that recourse to the Koranic suras is totally misleading in today's context…
Abu Zaid: Of course, the Koran sometimes uses very strong language in its exhortations to fight. Researchers have to question why the Koran employs such strong, persuasive language in this case. The context is crucial here. The Arabs who believed in Mohammed were to be convinced of the need to fight against their...

The theory of limits makes four significant contributions to the enhancement of fikh. Firstly, by the theory of limits, Shahrur makes a fundamental paradigm shift for fikh. The meaning of hudûd is perceived rigidly by the fukaha (experts in canon law) as verses and hadits concerning legal punishment (al-`uqûbât) which should not be added to nor reduced, such as hand amputation for the thief, 100 lashes for adultery, and so on. Apart from that, the theory of limits (nadzariyyat al-hudûd) offered by Shahrur tends to be dynamic and contextual, not only in regards to legal punishment (al-`uqûbât).
One fresh contribution to the contemporary study of fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) is the theory of limits (nadzariyyat al-hudûd) promoted by a Syrian liberal Islamic figure, Muhammad Shahrur. According to Wael B. Hallaq, Shahrur’s theory of limits solves the epistemological...

A little line should be allowed?
In France the government is preparing a Law against the wearing of the complete face-covering veils and even more worse the Dutch government is thinking about a same Law. They prefer to forbid the wearing of that kind of veils completely, but that will be unfeasible. But in the public transport, post-offices and other public buildings, the moslima’s would no longer be allowed to wear their veils. According the French this kind of clothing is not pro-women, covers all kind of extreme opinions and they see it as a threat against the public safety.
There are a several gradations of face-covering veils for our Muslims sisters, the simple kerchief, that only covers the hair and the other side the burkah that covers the complete body of the woman. Almost every country knows another name for the same article of clothing and it has no sense to name them all, like it has no sense for me and for every other men to proscribe the clothing that a woman should wear. It is only the right of the woman to choose to wear a burkah or any other kind of religious clothing, if she chooses it. I as a man and being a Muslim brother do not have the right to force or to forbid the wearing of kerchiefs or more covering veils. This is only an affair between my beloved Muslim sister and her Almighty and Merciful Creator. There is no government on this earth that has the right to infringe in the relation between religious people and Allah.

Wilders manipulates Qur'an texts and is suggestive and misleading.
That says five Dutch non-Muslim experts in Quran, Islam and Law on the attempt by Wilders to prove the violent nature of Islam. The PVV leader cuts Quran verses in half. He hides the peaceful part, the orders for soldiers on the battlefield he links to images of civilian casualties in peacetime.
With a logical analysis of complete Quran quotes and information from other sources shows that the ruling Wilders about the inherent violence of Islam contradicts the current scientific facts and methods. Both Christians and Muslims today are turning away from spreading their faith by the sword. Muslims are in majority against terror, they themselves are far more likely than victims of Westerners.

Chairman Henny Kreeft (Dutch Muslim convert & reformist thinker), you can see me sitting in the back (on the right) being filmed by the Dutch media.
Speech press conference NMP 5-feb2-010
Salaam Alaikum, Peace be with you,
Hello and Welcome,
I am Arnold Yasin Mol and am president of the Scientific Bureau of the Dutch Muslim Party.
Muslims are now some decades part of Dutch society, the first generations were brought here to help rebuild our country.
From dikes to buildings, in almost every province they were deployed and have contributed to what the Netherlands is now; a modern country with good infrastructure and housing.
Now we are several generations later, and the immigrant children and grandchildren are completely part of Dutch society. They grow up with the same cartoons, freedom, education and ambitions as any other Dutch person.

Moslimpartij presenteert partijprogramma

As I read a poem and at the end of it, give a sigh of relief and satisfaction and say,”What a beautiful poem!” Where does the beauty come from? I believe it is beautiful because of the meaning I have managed to extract from its words. I have achieved an optimal level of understanding of its words and thus a deep appreciation is felt by the reader (me).
Similarly, if an optimal level of understanding is achieved of the verses from the Quran, whether it be in Arabic or any other language, the deep appreciation will be felt by the reader. Muslims are encouraged to strive, to seek knowledge on understanding the verses and content of the Quran.
